How Can We Make Our Prayers More Genuine and Heartfelt?

Do not make your prayers a mere formality. A prayer is a special moment spent with God. God is kind and gracious. He is ever present at all prayers. Speak to God from your heart. This must be a time used to strengthen you, relax you, and take all your fatigue and worries away. It must be honest and sincere, done with the beauty of faith, humility, and total surrender. God responds to prayers where no selfishness lies. You only trap yourselves with insincere prayers. God does not get trapped by phony prayers or false tears. God only gets captured and becomes a willing prisoner when your love for Me comes from all your heart, mind, and soul. When you accept God in all His manifestations and forms, when you bow with humility of total surrender, then He puts on His golden wings for you. And when you are ready, God carries you back to Him. Life is like the pendulum of a wall clock. The pendulum oscillates from one end to the other. If the pendulum stops oscillating or moving, it means the wall clock is under repair. The pendulum has to move between two ends - one of sighs and the other of extreme smiles, tears, and smiles. You cannot always have the pendulum towards smiles; it is impossible unless it is damaged.

You cannot expect the pendulum to stay in sighs or tears unless you are holding it there; it is impossible! The pendulum goes on moving between the two extremes of sighs and smiles, with each alternating with the other.

You conduct your life doing ungodly acts. You face one failure after another. Each failure takes you away from Me even further, due to your enormous ego which grows higher and higher. Do you think you can carry out unjust acts, and I will not intervene? Every time your ego rises, I stamp it even lower.

Eventually, you tire of this war you wage with Me. You cry and wail and indulge in self-pity. All those who accompanied you in your unjust acts also take off, leaving you all alone to face your karmas. I will not come and help you until I see true tears of repentance. With every tear of repentance that falls, I remove your miseries one by one.

You now begin to realize that you are not alone after all! Always remember, God is omnipresent, God is the sole witness. God descends to wipe out injustices. God forgives, God accepts. And God loves! God loves! God loves!

When you say, "I love God," to me you are saying that you have overcome hatred, anger, envy, and jealousy. You have subdued your ego and embraced Him in every form. You have gained mastery over your senses, mind, and intellect. You no longer distinguish between happiness and misery, and you dwell in a state of worry-free peace. Your sole need is God, and you are unattached yet bound by duty. Every fiber of your being perceives Me through love, and you have transformed into His likeness.

Is a heart that sings My glory,
Is a heart that serves all My forms,

Fancy words and phrases, uttered by you to your children, without showing true leadership of practice, are hollow and empty, lacking meaning. It only teaches your child to be deceitful and hypocritical. First, be honest and sincere of your abilities to them. Tell them of your expectations of them, and of your love and encouragement for them. Make it a joint mission for both to complete. Learn from their innocence, and teach them the true experiences of your life, from which you have learned. Teach them to pray at all times for My guidance. Dedicate the task of being a parent to Me. Allow Me to become your mother and father, and that of your children, and those of future generations to come.

The more you dip your tea leaves in hot boiling water, the more color it absorbs, the more strength the tea gains. Similarly, the more you dive into spirituality, the more of My form you begin to attain, the more of My strength you receive.

Drink this cup of tea every day in the morning, and let it awaken you from the deep sleep, energize you from your spiritual laziness. Start your day with Me, and I promise you that I will fill the rest with My sweetness.

I do not think so much imagination of God is necessary. God has given us a soul, a mind, and a body. We achieve and acquire samskaras with the help of mind and body. Those samskaras are the causes of our pleasure and/or suffering in life. Also, there are pointers that the mind, along with samskaras, goes with the soul, and the body gets destroyed. So let us eat mangoes appropriately instead of ruminating over the tree. How do you react?
