Understanding My Salary Breakdown: How Do I Calculate My Basic, Gross, and In-Hand Salary?

HarpreetRajS
I am Assistant Manager, Human Resources. The company decided my salary to be Rs. 25,000 per month, with deductions of Rs. 3,500. Out of this amount, Rs. 2,000 is for accommodation, Rs. 1,500 is for meals, Rs. 200 is for electricity, Rs. 100 is for maintenance, and 10% is for refundable security.

Please tell me what will be my basic salary, gross salary, in-hand salary, as well as the Cost to Company (CTC).

Understanding Your Salary Breakdown

Basic salary is generally 30% or 40% of CTC, which in your case is 25,000. Gross is CTC only = 25,000. In-hand will be gross minus deductions.
