What Will Happen To PF Account When Current Company Is Aquired By Some Other Company

sp_sonu
I joined Company X in July 2012, and this company has already been acquired by Company Y. Company Y will complete the acquisition process in September 2012 itself. I am concerned about what will happen to my PF account, which was opened in July. Additionally, I had applied for the transfer of my old PF to the account opened by Company X.

Hi,

In that case, even the existing PF will be changed to the new company name, and the account numbers will remain the same.

Oh, thanks Mr. Jeevrathnam, I was confused about this. If the account number remains the same, then no issue for me because the old PF will get transferred to the account number and not to the name of the company.

One more doubt is that I have an account number KN/BN/25437/1590. I cannot see the balance for this PF account. I am getting "Invalid Member_id / Data not updated against this BG/BNG/0025437/000/0001590". Any guess why so?

Earlier, there was an old coding system, and now it's transitioning to an online system. It is not an issue at all.

Dear Sir,

If your PF Number is correct but the portal shows it as an Invalid Number, it means that your previous organization did not submit the Annual Return for the year 2011-2012. Only in such cases, this type of problem will arise. Therefore, please check with your previous company to ensure they have submitted the annual return. Once they do so, the amount will be updated, and the balance will be sent to your mobile number and email address.

Best Regards,
M. Suresh Kumar

I have a slightly different issue. My company converted to a Private Limited (PVT LTD) in March 2017, and then they opened a new member ID in the same UAN account. Now I have two member IDs.

So my question is - can I withdraw PF money from the old member ID?
