Query Regarding ESIC Monthly Contribution

I have the following query related to the ESIC Monthly contribution: How many copies of the ESIC monthly contribution challan need to be submitted to SBI Bank? For the month of June, our company submitted only one copy of the challan along with a cheque. Could you please clarify what the consequences would be of submitting only one copy of the challan to the bank?

You have to submit 3 copies to the bank. They will retain two copies and return one for your filing purposes. If you submit only one copy, you will not receive your own, so check with the bank officials. If you have already submitted, they will provide you with a photocopy.

You have to deposit the three copies of the challan, in which two are for the bank, and one is for your office copy.

Thank you for your prompt reply. If the bank officials have already submitted the challan, they will give me a photocopy of the depositor's copy. Will the bank send a photocopy to ESIC on their own, or do I have to submit the copy of what I receive? I want to know step by step what exactly I should do.

Now everything is online, so you no longer need to submit anything to ESIC. The amount will automatically be credited to your ESIC account once you submit the challan. Remember to keep a copy for your reference for reconciliation.

Nowadays, ESI challan is automatically generated online as soon as we enter the working days and salary. We will receive the ESIC challan in two parts. One part will be retained by the bank, and the other part is for us. We do not need to send anything to the ESI Corporation.

Prior to March 2011, the manual challan contained three parts. The bank would provide us with two copies. We had to send one copy to ESIC along with the half-yearly return. However, that procedure is no longer required.

If you are going through the online method, you have to deposit a single copy of the challan along with a cheque, which is divided into parts. The left side part (Bank copy) will be kept by the bank, and the right side part (customer copy) will be returned to you after putting an acknowledgment stamp.

Yes, I agree with Mr. Narasimhan. Dear Trupti, please submit only one hard copy of the generated challan (PDF) with a cheque to the bank. After the cheque realization, you have to collect the employer copy (part of the challan you have submitted). You have to submit RC to ESIC online.

Simple... Have a nice day.
