Are Internships a Must for Engineering and MBA Students? Plus, Do All Companies Offer Them?

Just wanted to know, is an internship compulsory for all disciplines, i.e., for Diploma/Bachelor of Engineering/MBA students? Also, is it mandatory for all companies to provide internship opportunities for students to work for a few months? Kindly guide.

Internships: Necessary but Not Compulsory

Compulsory may not be the right term; it is necessary. All professional courses like an MBA require practical exposure even during the course. While it is not mandatory for companies to provide these opportunities, most companies do hire interns.

Several professional courses have made it mandatory for students to undertake internships in a corporate setting. However, it is not compulsory for any corporation to provide internship opportunities to students in their organization.

1. Management: BBA/MBA
2. Engineering: B.Tech/BE
3. Computer Application: BCA/MCA
4. Hotel Management: BHM

& other professional courses like Travel & Tourism, etc., must go for an internship.
