Does Working in a Consultancy Count on My HR Resume? Seeking Advice to Start My Career

Hello seniors! I have a doubt regarding the accountability of experience working in a consultancy. I completed my MBA in HR last year. At that time, some people told me that working in a consultancy would not add to my experience on my CV. Is it so? Due to some reason, I could not try for a job last year. But now, after a year, I am thinking of starting my career in the HR field. How should I begin?

You should start looking for an opportunity as a fresher. If your question is about placement consultancy experience, it will not carry much weight in the corporate HR field. However, it might be meaningful for a recruitment profile within a company.

If you are referring to experience in an HR consultancy, then it will add good value to your CV. In such a situation, I assume you would have more responsibilities than just being a coordinator.
