How to Cancel a Wrong PAN Card

Please give me suggestions on how to cancel a wrong PAN card. I received the wrong PAN card by mistake, and now I want to cancel it and obtain a new PAN card with the same name.

Please advise me on what steps I should take now and where I can submit my wrong PAN card. Can I post it with a cancellation letter or through Registered AD?

Can you advise on what mismatches are present in that PAN card? Is the name matching? Is the father's name matching? Is the date of birth matching? Is your photo matching?

You have to submit a correction form with all proof (to change on your PAN Card) along with some nominal fees at the TINT facility center at your location. You will receive a new PAN card (corrected) within 15 days at your address.

PAN Card and PAN Card Number can never be wrong. There can be a situation where some of your details might be incorrectly printed. For example, the name not matching, father's name not matching, date of birth not matching, or photo not matching. If these four details are correctly printed, then your PAN Card is perfectly alright, and there is no need to panic.

Note: PAN Card can never be cancelled. Only the details printed on the PAN Card can be changed upon request. The procedure for changing details is similar to that of applying for a new PAN Card.
