Choosing Between Symbiosis and ICFAI: Which Correspondence Course Fits Your Needs?

I would like to know which one is better for correspondence between Symbiosis and ICFAI. Additionally, I am interested in understanding the fee structure, admission dates/procedures, and other relevant information for both institutes.

I would like to know full details of MBA through ICFAI correspondence. I am pursuing PGDBA in HR from Symbiosis but I am not very satisfied. I stay in Lucknow, so please send in full details of the program and please tell me if MBA from ICFAI is a degree program or diploma.

I don't know much about ICFAI, but I can tell you about Symbiosis as I'm from the 2005 batch. The fees are 20,000 for two years, and exam fees are extra. You have to send the amount through DD first of 8000 and after a few months of 12000. The examination fees should be sent as and when you appear for the exam, i.e., in Jun-Jul and Dec-Jan.

In Symbiosis exams, there is no negative marking, but in ICFAI, there is negative marking, and the fee structure is higher compared to Symbiosis. For admission in Symbiosis, you can apply in Apr-Jun when the forms are available. They also issue forms in Nov, but I am not sure if they are issuing forms this year. You can purchase these forms from UTI bank for approximately Rs. 750 and send a DD of 1000 along with the form. After that, you will receive your SCDL registration number, and then you have to send an 8000 DD.

How do I appear for the exams? Do we need to go to Pune to appear for the exams, or does Symbi have exam centers in different cities? Is there an option to take exams online?

We don't have to go to Pune. There are 4 centers in Delhi for online exams: Vivek Vihar, South Ex, Paschim Vihar, and Pusa Road. The exams are for one hour and are conducted online.

I have heard high praise for ICFAI, but I am curious about the fees. Can you shed some light on that so that aspirants can know what to expect?

Thank you for the information on Symbiosis which I was scouting for. I've been trying to find the information on the net but unable to. Also, I am not able to reach them on the phone. You have provided a lot of details, and I am sure it will be helpful to me and others. I am planning to do an MBA-2yr through Distance Learning since I work full-time in Chennai. Are there exam centers in Chennai as well? Please let me know.

Hey, nothing like that. It's just that the format the fees can be selected in is different with respect to people's needs. ICFAI is offering the MBA course with three additional features: training classes, internship, and placements. All of the above are optional features, so you know the total fees can vary depending on the features students may opt for. However, all the people who have gotten in touch, I send them a detailed prospectus of the MBA program, and things sail smoothly after that. I hope any doubts are being cleared.
