Company policy for termination differs from company to company. Also, you have not mentioned whether the boss is new. If yes, he can approach his superiors and sort out the matter. He can also state that he would not like to report to him in the future.

Considering the Situation

Coming to the bare facts of the case, considering that your husband seems quite efficient, it may be a better option to change jobs rather than getting into the emerging situation at Airtel. Does he have the time to pursue the course of action you suggest? The issue does not necessarily have to be about right or wrong but more about prioritizing.

Sometimes it takes an efficient officer to leave before the employer realizes their true value (I have seen this situation even in very large corporations). Given that your husband has worked here for 7 years, his performance would surely have been noticed by other top officials, apart from his immediate boss.

I joined Microsoft one year ago, and I have been given a heavy workload. However, my boss has rated me poorly and is pressuring me to resign daily. At the same time, he is asking me to complete next year's appraisal forms as part of the normal process. He is reluctant to put me on a Performance Improvement Plan, stating that they will issue a negative experience letter at the end of the performance period and terminate me based on poor performance.
