Please guide me on how to obtain an exemption for providing a crèche facility in a factory. There are around 45 female employees working, with only 13 being married.
The Factory Act does not specify whether employees should be married or unmarried. However, if you have more than 30 female employees, you are required to have a creche according to the act.

As per the Factories Act, if the number of female workers exceeds 30, you are required to provide a crèche facility. For further clarifications, please feel free to contact me at [Phone Number Removed For Privacy Reasons].
Hi, I spoke to department personnel, and they advised me to apply for an exemption since the total number of married women is less than 15. It is necessary to have each employee attest to their marital status and address the declaration to the Director of Factories.
I also have the same problem as you. We have 100 women workers, but out of them, only 5-6 are married. Despite this, we are going to start a crèche facility, which is compulsory as mentioned in Section 48 of the Factories Act 1948. There are no other options available.
In the amendment "Subs. by Act 94 of 1976, s. 23," it is showing 50 women instead of 30 women for the creche. I would be grateful if anybody could clarify this.
Recently, I received a new amendment orally stating that a creche facility must be provided if the number of women workers exceeds 50. This requirement has been increased from 30 to 50. Please confirm if anyone else has received notification of the same amendment.
