How Does HR Freelancing Compare to Regular HR Jobs? Seeking Advice on Fees and Trends

SASHMITA
Hi All,

Can anybody suggest to me how freelancing jobs differ from regular jobs? What are the points one must take care of? What's the normal trend for charging professional fees?

I have no information about HR freelancing and have an offer to reply to!! Please revert back as soon as possible.

Please help.

Hello,

As a freelancer, you will still be a consultant! Or do you have any other form in mind?

You have to be clear on what you are offering to the clients. Is it Recruitment, Training & Development, Counseling, Industrial Relations, or perhaps HR systems & procedures?

Then you have to be clear about your professional network. Do you have membership in professional bodies, exposure as a visiting faculty, etc.?

What would be your social network? Are you involved in Rotary, Lions Club, other social services, or academic institutions?

I am presuming that you are professionally qualified and have hands-on experience in the field.

I suggest you conduct a SWOT analysis of your personality in the context of freelancing/consulting. This may lead to a more in-depth discussion on the subject.

The fees you should/could charge your clients will primarily be decided by the forces of demand and supply, and then by the clients' perceptions of the utility of your association.

I suggest you take this email in the right spirit, and when you are ready, we may discuss again if you choose.

Till then, goodbye, good luck, and cheers!

Regards,

Samvedan
