How Can I Retrieve My Original Relieving Letter from Tata Elxsi for a Job Switch?

I have lost the relieving letter and experience letter from my previous organization. Now, I am switching to another company, and they require the relieving letter from my current as well as previous organizations. In my current organization, they have a copy of the letter which they can provide me if I ask, but I would prefer to try to obtain the original one.

They can issue a fresh relieving and experience letter based on the copy they have if requested by you, citing the reasons.

Thank you, Saikumar. Tata Elxsi has agreed to issue a fresh relieving letter. Does the date of issue of the new relieving letter matter? I mean, the previous one was issued on 21st November 2008, and the same is mentioned on the letterhead. However, I expect they would mention the date as 5th July 2012 on the letterhead as this one is being issued/printed on 5th July 2012. Though the joining and the relieving date would be correct. Is there any cause for concern here?
