Form No. VIII and Its Importance

Form No. VIII is one of the registers that should be maintained as per the clauses of the Labour Contract Act, 1970. There are two parts in this register. Part I contains information relating to the Contractor - its name, address, type of service, location of work, amount of contracted work, and so on. Part II contains information such as the number of contract laborers, wage period, total wage amount, and so on.

Understanding Form VIII Under Contract Labour Rules

Under the Haryana Contract Labour (R&A) Rules, Form VIII is the register of contractors that must mention their particulars and be maintained by the Principal Employer. However, in the Central Rules, Form VIII is the application by the Principal Employer for Temporary Registration of their Establishment under the CLRA Act, which includes the particulars of contractors deployed in the establishment.
