Is Dearness Allowance mandatory in the salary structure of a private organization? Please advise.

No, it's not a hard and fast rule that you must mention the Dearness Allowance (DA) part in the salary structure if the employee's salary is more than the minimum wages notified by the concerned state government, even if you are giving wages more than the rate of minimum wages (MW).

I think DA has to be shown. However, since our wages are above the minimum wage, we list it under the heading as Basic + DA (consolidated).

Dearness allowance is not a mandatory part of salary; it is an optional component.
