I need your guidance on this issue. There is an employee in the marketing department whom we have asked to hand in his papers due to performance reasons and attendance issues (giving him a 15-day notice), but he did not submit a resignation letter and left the organization without completing his exit formalities. Now, after 2 months, his relatives call me and ask to settle his F&F as he is not in India. I told them that the employee has to approach me for the F&F settlement.
Considerations for F&F Settlement
1. I have to clear his F&F settlement because he has not finished his exit formalities (he did not even take his relieving letter).
2. He claims for 45 days (including the 15 days' notice period given by the company). He never came to the office for those 15 days but used to give his client visit updates over the phone to his team members. Most of the time, when I or his head tried to call him, his mobile was switched off or he did not pick up the calls.
Please help me decide whether his F&F should be done or not.
