Can I Move to Abu Dhabi with a Valid Qatar Visa and Get a New Residence Permit?

Remesh Nair
I am working in Qatar and have received an offer from Abu Dhabi. I have a work visa valid for 60 days from the employer in Abu Dhabi. My problem is that I cannot cancel my residence visa (work visa) from Qatar. However, my company is willing to give an exit permit without canceling the RP, as there are no legal problems against me, and it's only a technical issue (which cannot be rectified on short notice). Now, with this valid visa (valid for another year), can I come to Abu Dhabi and get a residence visa there?

Thank you.

As far as my knowledge goes, you cannot obtain two country visas at the same time in the Middle East. What I suggest is to visit Abu Dhabi, meet your employer, and see whether this working condition suits you or not. I hope your Qatari employer will give you a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Legally, you cannot hold two visas at a time, but you can join the new company in Abu Dhabi after exiting Qatar. Automatically, the existing visa in Qatar will be canceled after 6 months.

Here, your problem is solved.

Cancelling Qatar RP for Abu Dhabi Residency

To get a Residence Permit (RP) in Abu Dhabi, you need to cancel your Qatar RP. You can enter other GCC countries with a business or tourist visa. The Qatar RP will be cancelled if you don't enter within six months, and thereafter, you are eligible to get an Abu Dhabi RP. There is nothing to do with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.
