Dear Aakriti,
There are many seniors who will give you much better advice. However the points which you have specifically mentioned regarding working timings, saturday off; there are regulations of daily working hours & weekly working hours. As long as these are being followed there is no issue at all. If daily hours are increased with in the prescribed legal implications; saturday off can be given. But it is all management decision. Regarding sales every company lays higher targets & the crip of sales people will always be there. Same is with the production people. So to my mind there are no issues at all. Since you are new; employees would like to take maximum advantage due to your lack of experience & ignorance of rules & regulations. So be diplomatic & discuss the issues with your management & then seek specific advise.

The point raised by Aakruti is really a matter of concern..and the solutions given by all is well appreciated.Hr has a crucial role in an organisation particularly like aakruti's organisation.There are other organisation like this also.The Hr has to face the challenges tactfully otherwise have to take the 2nd option ....best of luck aakruti

HR Manager is hired to make a bridge between the employee and the employer, being a professional you should not be emotional at given point of time, since yours is a small organisation it will come under Shops and Establishment Act, go through the Act and make policies, implement it and let the employees adhere to it. Mr. Robin has rightly said since you are fresher employee will take undue advantage of you by cribing with their unwanted demands. Please dont heed to it just adhere to the policies.

Thank you all for your guidance and support.
As your advice, I had drafted HR Policies for our company and showed it to the Directors, but of no use,they are least interested in it.
Moreover, they have directed me to give offer letter/appointment letter to only those joinees who ask for it, as a result 2-3 M.B.A freshers, who had joined 1 month back, have still not got their appointment letter.
What should I do? I have tried my level best to improve the standard of our company, but of no use. I am planning to change my job after completing my 6 months here, will it be right? Moreover, will I get decent job in HR as I am just a graduate?

Hi Aakriti,
It's always a good idea to get to know the organization well before taking up an offer. Be choosy if you can afford. Prudent use of social media may help you arrive at the right decision. I would say, don't wait for a stage where you get really desperate; because on your next job you should have a long term plan. An MBA or equivalent will definitely help. If you don't want to take a break from work, join a genuine correspondence programme like the one offered by IGNOU and get it on your resume- the sooner the better.
