Transitioning from HR to Legal Adviser: Is Pursuing an LLB After an MBA the Right Move?

manali_mandloi
Hi, I have completed my M.B.A in HR and am currently working as an HR executive in the BPO sector. I am interested in getting more involved in the legal aspects of corporate work. I aspire to work as a legal adviser (HR) with a manufacturing group or in a similar role. Therefore, I am considering pursuing an LLB after my M.B.A in HR. However, I would greatly appreciate suggestions and advice from experts in this field. Please suggest to me what steps I should take?

Thank you.

Please consider pursuing an LLB degree as it will certainly help you. Alternatively, you can also opt for a Diploma or Master Diploma in Labour Laws.

Beyond doubt, it has great scope. With that combination, you can certainly have an edge over other HR professionals. People with such educational combinations are valued in the industry. However, experience also matters.

As you mentioned having experience in a BPO and looking ahead to joining a manufacturing sector firm, the overall environment in a BPO and a manufacturing unit can be contrasting, especially in the context of HR. You have to deal with a totally different type of workforce. However, it also depends on where you are deployed, the company profile, and a lot of other issues. So, this contention is bound to subjectivity.
