Do Contractors Need Separate BOCW Registration if the Principal Employer is Registered?

Dear Sirs, we are subcontractors for a power project. Our principal employer has registered itself under the CLRA and BOCW acts. Is it necessary for contractors to also get registered under BOCW? Kindly guide.

Thank you.

My query is again related to BOCW and CLRA. While applying for registration under BOCW, we were told by the concerned DLC office that first, we have to get ourselves registered under CLRA. Is it necessary for a contractor to get a labor license before taking registration under BOCW? Or are we being misguided?

Kindly suggest.

Yes, if the license part is applicable to you, then you need to get a license from the Labor Department. However, it is not a precondition for getting registration under BOCW.

We are executing contractual work at a power plant, and the labor involved in construction is less than 10% of the total cost. Please suggest whether we are subject to the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act.

If we have obtained registration as per the BOCW Act in Delhi, will it be applicable for Jaipur, Rajasthan? Kindly suggest.

Dear Sir,

1. My query is how to register employees as beneficiaries under the BOCW Act 1996.
2. Monthly return form for beneficiaries under the BOCW Act 1996.
3. Register of beneficiaries under the BOCW Act.

Thank you.
