EDLI Scheme Benefit Calculation Inquiry

I want to know, as per the new notification of the EDLI scheme dated 08/01/2011 regarding the increase in the limit from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 130,000, how should we calculate the benefits in the following situations:

• If a member died 5 days after registering with EPF.
• If a member died after 3 years of service.

Is there any specific service period required to avail the benefits of EDLI?

Your valuable response in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Only one day of attendance will suffice to avail EDLI. For the aforementioned cases, the EDLI amount will be 20 times the salary, subject to a ceiling of Rs. 1,30,000.

Thank you for your valuable response. Is there any mention or circular about whether an employee who worked for one day will receive the EDLI Benefit?
