Can someone explain what is Severity rate and Frequency rate in simple terms to me? where and why this rates are relevant? I am not aware of it. I am not from safety stream but I am eager to know it.

Will you pls give any reffrence of legal dacument where mentioned that lost time is calculate on the basis of shift time i'e 8 hrs/Day or time which the injury occurs and time the duty joined by injured person i 'e full day (24 hrs)
