Hello Seniors,

Please help me to understand the Form 16 procedures. Last month, one of our employees resigned from the company, and he is asking me about the Form 16. As I am new in the HR field, I do not have any idea. Please help me.

Hi Vrusha,

Form 16 is the declaration form by the company regarding TDS deduction from the salary where a company declares that a particular amount of Income Tax has already been deducted from the salary of an employee. This form is necessary to be submitted to the new employer for the purpose of calculating further Income Tax to be deducted.

Hi Vrusha,

Form 16 is the certificate from the employer to the employee stating the amount of TDS deducted from their total one-year salary and the reasons if not deducted. Every salaried person needs to file their return, and it is required at that time. It's very important.

I hope I have answered your query.

Regards,
Sweta

Hi,

You need to talk to your accounts department to provide the necessary information for the company's CA to prepare. What you need to do is simply provide them with the salary transfer details for the financial year. Additionally, ask the employees to provide you with their savings details or their tax payment information.

Only this information needs to be collected; the rest will be prepared by your CA or the accounting department.
