New Job Challenge: What Labor Laws Apply to Hospitals in Andhra Pradesh?

I am now employed in a new hospital and was asked to enforce labor laws. Can anybody please help me in listing out labor laws applicable to hospitals in Andhra Pradesh?

Applicable Labor Laws for Hospitals in Andhra Pradesh

The following labor laws are normally applicable to hospitals providing medical services for a fee:

• The A.P Shops and Establishments Act - if the Act does not exempt hospitals in A.P from its purview.
• The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
• The Minimum Wages Act, 1948, with state rules and state-notified minimum wages.
• The Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972.
• The P.F. Act.
• The ESI Act, if covered by State Government notification.
• The Contract Labor (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1971.
