Dear All,

I would like to learn about writing business emails because I have just joined a company as an Executive HR. All correspondence is conducted via emails. I report directly to the COO of the company. Please assist me with this.

Dear Naresh,

Business emails could vary depending on the situation, so please check the subject of your letter on Google - sample letters. This will give you some ideas about it.

Hi Brindra,

Thank you for your suggestion, but I would like to know how to start emails when I am writing to my boss (COO), as I always make silly mistakes which let me down.

Thanks,

Hi Naresh,

Usually, you can start with "Dear Sir," then express what you want to convey to him using polite words. After finishing the email, sign off with your signature (save it and use the same sign in all your emails). For example:

Thanks & Regards,
Naresh
HR - Executive
Company Name
Tele/Extn
Email Id

If you are sending an email for his approval, mention the details first. After that, write, "This is for your kind information and approval for further movement or for further advice."

I hope this is clear for you to understand.

Dear Mr. Naresh,

Irrespective of whom you are writing, a business/official email should have three main parts. The first part should be very pleasing and positive, including greetings or well-wishes. The second part should address your main subject. The third part should be a closing paragraph with politeness, using soft words. However, the content of this paragraph may vary depending on the subject and situation.

Thank you.
