Dear All,
I have been working in Qatar for the last 4 months after spending around 10 years in India in hardcore HR functions. I request your feedback on the SAP HR module, especially on "How to Add a New Employee" in SAP. In my company, we follow the steps below:
Step 1 - Create Position in PO13 > organizational management > OM > Maintain position
Step 2 - Hiring employees in PA40 (Personnel Action)
My doubt:
- Presently, if 100 persons are joining as Architects, we will create 100 positions in SAP. Each unique position (100 created) will be assigned to a unique person (100 architects).
- We also assign positions to cost centers.
- It seems that it is a time-consuming process - creating 100 positions and assigning new hires under that position one by one.
Can anyone suggest what the best practice is in adding a new employee in SAP and also how positions are created? I believe implementing SAP requires a lot of thinking and creativity.
Best regards,
Ajai Mathews
