Confused About Filling Form 19 for PF Claim? Need Help with Details and Attestation

Hi all, I was working in X company earlier and am now working in Y company. I asked my previous employer to fill out the PF form for me and dispatch it to the concerned authorities. He replied that he had done the same twice. However, when I tried to check the details online, I found he had not done anything.

So, I need to fill out Form 19 to claim my PF myself. There is a section named "Contribution for the Financial Year," and I'm confused about that as I'm not working in company X. Which details should be filled in there in that case?

Secondly, do I need to get Form 19 attested by the employer or a gazetted officer? I read somewhere that I need to do the same too.

The contribution details should be filled and attested by the X company. Instead of claiming, can't you transfer your PF funds from X company to Y company? If you are planning to claim, you should fill out Form 10C along with Form 19.

Thank you, Jeevarathnam, for the information. In fact, I'm in need of money, so I was thinking of using it from my PF. I heard that in case one is unable to contact the company for any reason, then he/she can get the same details attested by a Gazetted officer. In that case, what documents would be needed for the same?

As you mentioned that contribution details would be filled by the company, but the branch of the same company has been closed in the locality where I'm residing now. Their main office is in Delhi. So, in that case, what would you suggest for the next course of action?

It is better to contact the head office because they might have copies of Form 3A. Along with Form 10C and 19, you should also enclose copies of Form 3A, Form 5, and 10. If you are unable to obtain those, it is advisable to approach the Commissioner of PF at the PF office. He or she shall assist you.
