Can My Friend Resign During Probation Without a Notice Period? Urgent Advice Needed

pbali_99
Dear friends,

One of my friends is working for a good company. It has only been 3 months since he joined that company, but now, since he is not interested in the job profile, he is going to join a new company. Since he is in the probation period, what will be the notice period? In his offer letter, it has been mentioned that services can be terminated on either side without any notice. But he is worried whether the management will accept his decision and if they will ask him to serve a notice period. How valid is this, and can they reject his relieving letter? If they don't accept his resignation, what can he do?

Please reply, it's very urgent.

Dear Friend,

In most companies, the notice period during the probation period is 7 days. If an individual has another job offer in hand, then they should consider submitting their resignation letter to the current company. It is advisable for them to adhere to the 7-day notice period.

If the appointment letter states that one can resign or be terminated without notice, then they will receive an experience letter and a relieving letter. It is important to have a discussion with senior colleagues as they are likely to assist in obtaining all necessary documents required upon leaving the organization.

Regards,

Amit Seth.
