Dear Tejal,
As you already know that IR is important to smooth the relationship between Employee & Employer. Mostly, this term is used for Industrial sector, like to explain the relation between Labor & owner as well as the role of management body. It is very much needed to keep up the productivity.

IR is complete name of INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS.
This discipline covers the relationship of employees with the organization and with each other. Industrial relations is concerned with anticipating, addressing and diffusing workplace issues that may interfere with an organization’s business objectives, as also with resolving disputes between and among management and employees. It includes the processes of analyzing the employer-employee relationship; ensuring that relations with employees comply with applicable central and local laws and regulations; and resolving workplace disputes.
It also includes matters involving union issues, collective bargaining and ongoing union-management relations. The practice of counseling, disciplining and terminating employees falls within the domain of this discipline.

So IR stands for Industrial Relations.
In job portal sites when search for job is made or when profile is to be created at that time one has to select a category of industry, i.e. which industry he/she belongs to or which job category one wants to select for working, so out of many job category one category is HR/Admin/IR. So what are the job positions that come under IR?

The industrial relation means dealing with the matters between the employees and employers.The industrial relation means kind of relation between the company and labour in the company or else it means the mutual understanding between the employer and employee. The industrial relation deal with grievance, complaints and problems between the employee and the employer. thus bringing a mutual understanding between each other.
