Facing Age Limit Changes in PSU Recruitment: Can They Lower the Limit Suddenly?

TAPANIOCL
Sir, can anybody help me? I am a trade apprentice in a PSU. I shall complete the said apprenticeship in June 2012, which is of a duration of one and a half years. My age will be 28 years in June 2012. Earlier, in that PSU, the upper age limit for recruitment for a post related to my apprenticeship was 32 years, for which I could have competed. Suddenly, that PSU has lowered the upper age limit to 26 years by an administrative order. Now, I am not eligible to compete for the said post even after getting a relaxation of age of one and a half years as I will be 28 years in June 2012.

Question Regarding PSU Age Limit Regulations

My question is if there are any rules guiding the upper age limit in a PSU? Can a PSU suddenly lower the upper age limit by an administrative order?

Yes, the administrative order has the capacity to change the age limits, and you cannot challenge its amendments. They have already provided relaxation as well. However, if your age currently or at the time of application/admission falls within the relaxation period, you still have the opportunity for apprenticeship. Otherwise, you cannot claim it, but you may try speaking with the concerned authority.
