Thinking of Returning to My Old Job After 4 Months Away – Is It the Right Move?

MrRajesh_84
I need a suggestion. Can I rejoin my previous employer with a gap of 4 months? I worked with my previous employer for more than 5 years in Mumbai. I left that company for better compensation and changed my location to Chennai, particularly for the company because it's an MNC. However, in the new company, I am not satisfied with the work they have assigned, and I think there is no career growth. So, please suggest, is it the right decision to go back to my previous employer, and are they ready to hire me?

Considerations for Rejoining a Previous Employer

Mr. Rajesh, do you really think they are going to hire you again? You mentioned that you resigned from your earlier job because you were offered higher compensation from another job, but now you want to go back to them because you are not satisfied with the work at your present job. It seems like you really need to be concerned about your career and focus on your career planning because the current strategy you have is not ideal, I would say.

Furthermore, if you were not satisfied with the work there or couldn't handle the work pressure, leading you to believe you were happier with your previous employer and now want to return to them, do you truly believe they will offer you the same salary you are currently receiving? I apologize, but I mention this because your query contains many questions.

In any case, if you had a positive experience with them and they are willing to rehire you, you can consider going back. However, I urge you to focus on your future and avoid adding multiple short experiences to your career history, as this may not be beneficial for your career.

Mr. Rajesh, could you please update us with your decision and the actions you have taken? Have you rejoined them or not, and what are your future plans? I'm sorry if I have made you feel uncomfortable in any way. This is just a genuine concern because I have seen many people in situations where they never find the right path to move on or are stumbling on it.
