Worried About Accenture's Background Check? How to Handle Missing Salary Records

I am currently working at Accenture (this is my 5th company) for the past 8 months. I have a total of 9+ years of experience. Recently, my first company (where I worked for 3 years) closed down. During that time, I used to receive my salary in cash and only have my appointment letter and release letter. Will there be any problem for me if Accenture conducts verification and requests my bank statement? Please help me here. I appreciate your assistance.

Also, please let me know how many previous companies Accenture checks during the background verification process.

Please speak to your HR and submit the documents, such as any letter stating your designation or similar communication, that you have to support your employment with the firm, along with reference numbers to the managers, if possible. There are many firms that have closed down during the recession. That does not lead to job loss for all those who worked with them. Accenture follows the Nasscom standards for background verification. However, escalations such as yours would be dealt with separately. I have managed many expat cases where not just their firms, but even their colleges closed down. Legitimate supporting documents will save your day.

Many MNCs, as well as Indian firms, demand NSR membership as part of verification. The National Skill Registry ID needs to be verified, and here you need to provide your entire educational and experience details. If one of your previous companies closed down, they will verify that, which should not be a problem for you (the shutdown of a company is beyond your control). Hopefully, you have salary information in your offer letter or experience letter.

Apart from the NSR, there might be one more verification (typically, financial domain customers demand companies to do this), where once again, they may verify all your educational particulars and experience details.

However, please don't panic. If you have provided correct information, there's no need to worry at all.

Background verification is done for all companies, as I had a very bad experience. In my case, I had worked for one company for more than a year and I have all the proofs, including offer/experience letters, bank statements, transactions, and an ID card. However, during the verification process, the manager of that company said negative things about me, such as not working well and lacking good behavior, despite completing over 12 projects. In some companies, he even claimed that I did not work at all. Additionally, he asked for money for verification clearance. As a result, I filed a consumer case against that manager. Now, whenever verification is conducted by other companies, he intervenes to ensure my case is clear.

One more thing you can do is show NSR verification proof that you registered with both your present and past employers to your future employer. Alternatively, you can inform your future companies that your verifications were cleared with the past companies. If those companies are now closed, you can provide legal documents such as offer or relieving letters. It would be even better if you could show bank transactions for at least 3-5 months.

Background Check Concerns

I have one query about a background check. I have recently joined a new organization and am a bit worried about my reference check. I was working with an organization for the last 3 years, and now I have come to know that the organization no longer exists. Although I have the appointment letter, relieving letter, bank statement, and salary slip, my reporting manager is currently in the Middle East and not in contact with me, despite us having a good rapport.

Will the company send the reference check hard copy to the company address or through the mail? I am not familiar with the process; can anyone shed some light on it?

Background Verification Issue with SSC Certificate

I completed my SSC in 1999, Diploma in Chemical Engineering in 2005, and PGDBA in 2011. I submitted all the necessary documents and was informed recently that their background verification team issued a red alert concerning my SSC school certificate.

There has been no clarification provided regarding the issue with my school. My SSC certificate is from MSBSHSE (Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education). The NRC Colony School was previously managed by the NRC company, which shut down a few years ago, and the school became private. However, I do not believe this should have such a significant impact.

I am aware of several Accenture managers who graduated from NRC, and even if there is an issue with the school, the board remains the same, the Maharashtra State board.

Seeking Guidance

I have spoken with the HR heads at Accenture, and their response was that they do not intervene in the verification process. I am concerned that the verification team may have made an error during the verification process.

I would like to request guidance on how to address this situation.
