Respected senior members, I would be grateful if you could help me with this situation. I was working for a well-known BPO in Bangalore for over 5 years. People in the office knew that I was experiencing some health issues. I sent my resignation through email before any complications arose, but no one ever got back to me regarding my letter. I thought that since some major changes were happening in the process, perhaps my RM wouldn't have noticed my letter.
One day when I was at work, I fell ill and asked my RM to take me to the hospital. The RM directed me to HR. Before I could reach his desk, he just asked me to go home despite my terrible pain. I left the office, and the very next day, I was hospitalized. My relatives tried calling my RM many times to keep him informed. By the time they were able to reach him, he informed them that I was terminated for not returning to work.
After taking some rest, I returned to Bangalore to speak to my managers. Unfortunately, the process was shut down. Meanwhile, I tried talking to HR, who was the same person who sent me home instead of to the hospital. I spoke to him, and he said everything is over, and nothing can be done. Since this is my first job, I am unable to move on without papers. I really don't know what to do. I'm still recovering physically, but mentally, I'm very distracted.
I do have the screenshot of the resignation email which I sent to my RM.
Please help me on how to handle this situation with my old employer.
Thanks in advance.
