Respected Members, My question is whether ESIC is applicable on a gross salary of ₹10,000 or ₹15,000. Some threads suggest ₹10,000, while others indicate ₹15,000. I am confused.

It is applicable on gross salary less than or equal to ₹15,000. Washing allowance is the only exception under ESIC, which is not considered as income, but the calculation will be on gross salary including the washing allowance.

Hi Atul, the confusion is because of old postings stating ₹10,000/-. However, it has been revised to ₹15,000/-. Now, ESI is applicable for the gross salary for a maximum of ₹15,000/-.
