Seva Sahayog (SS), India: A Registered NGO Initiative

Seva Sahayog (SS), India, is a registered NGO that aims to engage socially active minds with NGOs that have demonstrated a sound and robust record in grassroots work. It's an initiative focused on strengthening and building capacity within high-impact Indian voluntary organizations by productively engaging socially responsible individuals, groups, and the corporate community.

The 'School Kit Donation Drive'

For the last 5 years, SS has been successfully running the 'School Kit Donation Drive' to gift a school kit/bag to schoolchildren from economically weaker sections of society. The school kit is an assorted set of materials such as blackboards, laboratory instruments, library books, materials for blind schools, sports materials, etc. The school bag contains:
- 1 school bag
- Notebooks
- Pen
- Pencil
- Drawing book
- Colors
- Compass box

These items vary as per the sections like primary, secondary, and higher secondary. The kits/bags are distributed to children from slums, schools, and education-support centers run by NGOs in and around Pune. Some of the NGOs partnering with us in this initiative are Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, Surajya Prakalp, Astitva Pratishthan, Chaitanya Mahila Mandal, and Rashtriya Sarvangin Gram Vikas Sanstha. Last year, we were able to bring a smile to over 30,000 children's faces!

Volunteer Support from the Corporate Sector

Around 5000+ software professionals from 100 companies like Infosys, KPIT, Amdocs, BMC Software, Eaton, and ThyssenKrupp are associated with us as volunteers.

Launch of 'School Kit 2012' Program

SS has launched the 'School Kit 2012' program in Pune. This year, our target is to donate over 40,000 school kits in slums and villages in and around Pune, as well as some NGOs across Maharashtra. This drive has already started in Mumbai and Nasik, along with Pune. We solicit your generous support this year too, to make the School Kit 2012 initiative a great success!

It costs only Rs.250/- to sponsor one 'School Kit'.
