Job Title Changed After Joining: Is My Role Still the Same and What Should I Do?

kapoorTarun
As per my offer letter, I have joined a financial broking company as Branch Manager - Business Development. However, after 10 days of my joining, they changed my profile name to Manager - Business Development. The reason for the change is not clear. Would it be a similar role?

Consequences of the Role Change

What are the consequences of this change? What should be my next step? Please guide me urgently.

Thank you.

If your job profile, role, and responsibilities have not changed, then what is your concern? If you don't like the new designation, you can resign, but you cannot take any action against the organization as they have not altered your job profile.

The role and responsibility will change as the Branch Manager is a team-handling profile, and the Manager-BD is an individual.

You can discuss the matter with your HR. They may also look into your concern. But instead of getting into legalities and wasting your time and money, it would be better if you don't like the job... resign and look for a better opportunity. Legally, you have the option to file a case against the employer for breach of contract.
