Navigating the A.P. Factories Act: What Forms and Registers Does Your HR Team Need?

vinnus.chaitu
Hi friends, I am working as an HR professional in a manufacturing company. We have a corporate office where administrative work is carried out, and the manufacturing unit is located at another site. I would like to know under which act we will be covered and what forms and registers need to be maintained under the A.P. Factories Act.

Thank you.

In my view, your manufacturing unit is to be covered by the Factories Act, and the corporate office is to be covered under the Shops Act.

The factory will be covered by the Factory Act of 1948, and the corporate office will be covered by the Shop and Establishment Act.

Dear Vinnus,

You should maintain Factory Act registers for your manufacturing unit. For your corporate office, you need to maintain registers under the Shop Act.

Your corporate office will be covered under the Shops & Establishment Act, while the manufacturing unit will be covered under the Factories Act. Accordingly, you have to follow the applicable labor Acts/Rules of your state.

Thank you,
