E-Waste Management Compliance for Steel Pipe Manufacturing

The E-Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2011 shall come into effect from 1st May 2012. Our industry falls under Schedule-I. Therefore, as per the IMS requirement, the Legal Register needs to be updated.

Could you please advise on the applicable rules for the industry falling under Schedule-I?

E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011

Please refer to the E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011. These rules include a list of compliances for producers of electrical and electronic equipment, collection centers, dismantlers, and recyclers, placing the responsibility of abiding by the compliances under the rules on them.

Compliances for Consumers and Bulk Consumers

For consumers or bulk consumers (which expression means and includes the Central Government or State Governments, public sector undertakings, banks, educational institutions, multinational organizations, international agencies, and private companies that are registered under the Factories Act, 1948, and Companies Act, 1956), the compliances mostly involve maintaining records in Form 2. Additionally, you are required to dispose of the waste through proper channels.
