As per your requirement, there is no shortcut for the Rupee Symbol in MS Excel.

a. Open the zip file containing the currency symbol in Excel attached here. After extracting this file, you will find two files: one is symbolize.xla (Macro), and the second one is the font file.
b. Copy or cut the font file into the fonts folder in the control panel.
c. Now click on symbolize.xla. It will ask for your permission, click on Yes.
d. Go to the file where you want to enter the rupee symbol or click on the cell where the amount is.
e. Click on the currency tab (a snapshot is attached for the currency tab, as it is hard to find).
f. Click on the first line, you will see some symbols there (without the currency symbol).
g. Now go to the font and choose Rupee Foradian as the font, and your work is done.

Hope this solution works for you.

We can create a shortcut for the same! I have made it this way! The ALT key along with the ~ key is the combination that works fine.

Yes, the ALT+~ symbol works for the same, but we have to choose the Rupee Foradian font every time.
