I am from Chennai. I want to know when the service tax at 12.36% is applicable. Is it from 17.03.2012 or from 1st April 2012? Please give me your suggestion.
As far as we know, from June 01, 2012, the Government of India lowered the service tax to 3.09% from 12.36%. Out of this, 25% is payable by the service provider, and 75% is to be paid by the one receiving the service.
