- How Should an Employee's Salary Be Calculated?
Employee salary is a collection of salary components that include earnings as well as deductions. Earnings could be Basic, HRA, LTA, Medical Allowance, Performance Bonus, etc. Deductions could include EPF, Taxes, Insurance, etc.

- How to Measure CTC?
The sum of all the above components is CTC (Cost-to-Company).

- On What Basis Should We Calculate HRA and Other Allowances?
Usually, Basic is calculated as 40% or 50% of CTC, and HRA is calculated as 50% of Basic.
