Seeking Advice on Unpaid Salary and Legal Protection
I had been working with Frankfinn Institute of Airhostess Training as the Center Head for the Baroda branch from December 2011 to October 2012. I resigned duly and completed my exit formalities as per the company norms. However, I was not paid my September month's salary even though the salary date was always the 7th of every month, and I had resigned on the evening of October 8th. In fact, they had not made salary payments to many of the employees for untold reasons.
I have been sending them reminders via email; however, they have not processed my one-month salary and Full and Final (F&F) settlement, nor have they given me my relieving letter to date, without providing any reasons at all. They have, for one reason or another, been trying to harass me as I am demanding my rightful dues. Finally, at the end of December 2011, I sent a lawyer's notice regarding the same. However, they have not replied to it to date.
I have tried all possible ways to communicate with the company and resolve the matter, but it seems they are not interested in settling my account and are under the impression that, being a female, I won't be able to take any action against them. Please note that this company is already well-known for not paying dues to their employees or vendors.
Kindly advise on what I should do in such a case. Does our law protect employees from such injustices? If yes, then how?
Your prompt response would be appreciated as I am a working woman and need to receive my due amount as soon as possible due to financial crisis.
Regards,
Ms. Jigna
