Why Was My Claim Form 10C Rejected and Can I Still Get My Full PF Amount?

Hi, today I got a message that Claim Form 19 is approved, and payment is under process. However, Claim Form 10C has been rejected. In what cases would 10C be rejected, and can I still receive my PF amount?

The message also mentioned that the EPF balance consists of an EE amount of Rs. 24,504 and an ER amount of Rs. 8,073. Could you please explain what the EE amount and ER amount represent?

I am curious if I can receive both the EE and ER amounts only with Form 19 since it has been approved.

Understanding Form 19 and Form 10C for EPF Settlement

Form 19 is for the settlement of EPF (15.67%). Form 10C is for EPS (8.33%).

Reasons for Rejection of Form 10C

- If you opt for withdrawal benefits after serving for 19 years, you are only eligible for a Scheme certificate.
- You may have forgotten to sign in the required areas.
- Missing any required fields such as Bank Details, etc.

Eligibility for Pension

Those who have a service of 9 years and 6 months are eligible for a pension. In this case, the service may be below 9.5 years.

Filling Out Forms for Resignation

If you are leaving the company before 180 days, you only have to fill out Form No. 19. If you have completed 180 days and are resigning thereafter, you will need to fill out both Form 19 and Form 10C.

Form 10-C Usage

Form 10-C is used for both withdrawal and the scheme certificate. If there is less than 6 months of service, one may opt for a scheme certificate.

Thank you for your insights on 10 C matters. For many days, I have been confused about the following:

Employer's Contribution and EPS Provision

If an employee does not put in their service for 6 months, where does the employer's contribution of 8.33% go? Does this money remain with the PF, or is it added to the PF account of the employee upon withdrawal? In which section of EPS is this provision made?

You would receive a letter stating the reason for rejection if you have submitted it in person. This letter will be sent to your postal address as mentioned in Form 19.

In that case, you would need to visit the PF office and meet with the PRO who will then guide you to the section where your PF claim would be processed.

Speak to the A/c Officer in the RPFO under whose jurisdiction your company PF accounts are maintained.

If he is unable to help you, speak to the Asst PF commissioner and explain your grievance.

In any case, go with your Form 19, appointment letter, salary slips, and PAN card (copies). The Form 19 needs to be attested by the bank you intend to get a transfer and should be in your name only. A cancelled cheque of the same amount needs to be also given.

Since the amount is below Rs 25K and if you are kind and persuasive, the section officer will only take care of this. In short, get your new form checked by them and then submit it at the general submission counter.

This is a tried and tested procedure.

For pension eligibility, a minimum service of 10 years is required (9.5 years will be rounded up to 10), while for withdrawal benefits, a minimum of one year of service is needed (6 months will be rounded up to 1 year).

Please refer to section 14 and Table D of the EPS for more information. Even if there is only a single contribution, it will be retained within the pension fund.

Only two reasons for 10C rejected cases:

1. Your working period is less than six months.
2. Your working period is more than 19 years. If so, you have to send 10D.

Let forms reach you back to check all the signatures, and you can send them again. There is no doubt you can get the EE-12% & ER-3.67% for Form-19.

Length of Service and Scheme Certificate

Length of service is not a problem if Form 10-C is used for the Scheme Certificate. Regarding pension entitlement, there is no significance for 19 years.

Yes, it's correct. But mention it for claiming the pension wages, which is 8.33%. Instead of sending Form 10C, you have to send Form 10D for claiming the pension. I mean this.

Pension and Withdrawal Benefits

For pension, 10 years of service are required and can be claimed through Form 10-D. However, for withdrawal benefits (1-9 years of service) and scheme certificates (where the length of service is not a factor, but the age should be below 58 years), Form 10-C is utilized.

Today, I received an SMS stating that the Status of Claim Form 10C for Withdrawal Benefit AGAINST Member Account No has been rejected. The rejection letter is either under dispatch or has already been dispatched to the address in your claim.

Please provide me with a solution. Will I receive both amounts because Form 19 was approved?

One of my friends changed three companies in his 8-year career. Every time, he only withdrew the PF amount by submitting Form 19. Recently, he discovered Form 10C for the Pension scheme. The issue is, can he now withdraw the Pension amount from his last 3 companies? He worked more than 180 days in each company. Please help me. I am waiting for your valuable suggestions.

Employees are eligible for a pension with a minimum requirement of 10 years of service. In this scenario, employees will be eligible for a pension at the age of 60.

Hi sir, I am Satyanarayana. I am expressing one doubt, please clarify. If any employee leaves the organization before 180 days of service, are they eligible for the employer's PF? And for that pension amount, are they eligible for the scheme certificate?

I came to know some information and would like to share it so that no other person should suffer like me. The process of transferring PF from the old organization to the new organization is complete. You do not need to worry about EPF and EPS separately. In the new PF account, you can check the old EPF balance, but not the EPS balance. This is because the EPS amount does not actually get transferred; only the information transfers so that it can be used during pension calculation. Therefore, the old office only provides SERVICE DETAILS INFORMATION (such as LENGTH OF SERVICE, NON-CONTRIBUTORY PERIOD, LAST WAGES DRAWN, etc.) using ANNEXURE-K to the new PF office, and that's sufficient. So, there is no need to worry about EPS if you have completed the PF transfer.

I have submitted my claim form online. After one day, my 10-C form got rejected, and it was showing the following reason:

Claim-Form-10C (EPS Withdrawal/SC) (Withdrawal Benefit/Scheme Certificate) Claim id-DSNHP190350028773 Member id-DSNHP00188740000001231 has been rejected due to: PDF FILE NOT OPENED. RESUBMIT THE FORM AGAIN/SUBJECT TO 100% CHECKED BY DA/SS.

What does that mean? Which PDF file are they referring to here?
