Navigating Inactive PF Accounts: How Can I Claim My Provident Fund After Years of Inactivity?

abhineetjhorar
I had worked with HSCI from July 2008 to 22nd March 2010. I resigned from HSCI and have been preparing for competitions since then. I have not claimed my PF amount to date. Kindly tell me the procedure for the same and what is the time limit for claiming the PF amount if the account becomes inactive.

There is no specific time limit for claims. However, an inactive account for 36 months or more will not accrue interest on the outstanding balance.

Required Documents for Claiming PF

In your case, as more than a year has passed since your Date of Retirement (DOR), you are required to submit an AFFIDAVIT-CUM-INDEMNITY BOND along with the standard Form 19 and 10C.

I have attached a sample affidavit bond for your reference. Please review it.

Hope this clarifies the process for you.

I resigned from my previous company in July 2011, and at the same time, I filled out the PF withdrawal form. As discussed with the HR team, they informed me that the form was submitted to the PF office in Bandra, Mumbai, in September 2011. However, I have not received my PF amount in my account yet.

Steps to Take for PF Withdrawal

Could you please advise me on what steps to take next?

You have to first approach the Bandra Office of the EPFO. In case you do not receive a satisfactory reply, contact the RPFC concerned along with the relevant details.

I resigned from Satyam in 2007; however, I did not transfer or withdraw my PF. Now, they have asked me to provide an affidavit along with the withdrawal forms.

Thanks for providing the affidavit template; however, I would like to know about the amount of stamp paper required to get this typed.

I have submitted Form 13 for a transfer to my current employer's account from two previous companies with complete formalities. One at Kukatpally and the other one at Barkatpura in the month of February. Since then, I have had no reply regarding my PF accumulations. When I contacted the Barkatpura PF authorities, they said they sent a file to the Kukatpally PF office for the Task & User ID code. However, the Kukatpally authorities say they have not received it. Simultaneously, the PF transfer that was submitted at Kukatpally has also not reached the Barkatpura office. Kindly advise on how to deal with this issue.

Is it required to use only a Rs. 100 stamp paper for an AFFIDAVIT-CUM-INDEMNITY BOND along with the regular Form 19 and 10C if the time lapses more than a year after your DOR?

Thanks,
Subroto
