Understanding Illumination Levels in the Metal Industry: What Are the Standards?

You have to refer to the Maharashtra Factories Rules. You need to categorize the departments such as Stock Yard, Stores, Roads, Shop Floor, Finishing operation area, etc., and refer to the attached guidelines. The requirement of illumination level given in MFR 1963 Rule 34 is a guideline, and the minimum level is specified. You can have your own standards for lux level, which can be better than those given in MFR 1963.
