Dear Dhanya,

My replies are as below:

a) Ego problem is there in every company not in just yours. Possibly your company may have little more.

b) Ego problem arises because of top management. They allowed to develop ego of managers. It is failure of top management who did not foster "culture of humility".

c) Ego is developed because lack of understanding of interdependence. Ego is also developed because of top management has failed to create organisation's common goal.

So what is the solution now? It could be as below
:

d) Don't ever think that few training sessions on team building will work. With my decade long experience in this training I can say confidently that there will be effect of this training for few days or weeks and thereafter it will wither away.

e) Lack of culture of performance is one of the reasons for having ego. On how many parameters you measure the performance of managers? A monthly or quarterly scorecard should have at least 5-6 minimum. These can go up to ten as well.

f) Train your managers on "Invisible costs". How companies suffer because of this invisible costs. It is so easy to take action to control visible costs but many managers or even top management do not even know how to calculate or what the invisible costs.

g) Train your managers on how eradicate negative conflict how to substitute positive conflict in its place. This is much easier said than done. But then they need to understand how much amount of revenue lost because of the simmering tensions beneath the surface.

There are other solutions also. We will talk about it later. If you want to hire my services for training, it would be my pleasure to associate with you.

Thanks,
