Need a Relieving Letter After Absconding from BPO Job – Can HR Help Me Now?

I worked in a BPO for 2 years. I got an IT job in December 2011. Therefore, I absconded in December 2011 because I didn't have enough time to get relieved properly. Now, I need a relieving letter for those 2 years. What should I do? If I speak with my HR, will they accept it?

You will need to pay for another 70 days to receive your relieving letter from the company. Alternatively, check with your HR to see if they are willing to deduct your paid leaves against the notice period. In this case, you would then have to cover the remaining days to obtain your relieving letter.

If you do not serve your notice period and leave the organization without prior notice, it will be considered as absconding. Some companies may classify such cases as absconding post-resignation, leading to a termination letter.

It is advisable to settle the balance for the days and update the resignation type to normal so that all other processes can proceed smoothly.

You have resigned from the service, so you will not receive a relieving order now. If you request, they may provide a service certificate for your two years of employment. This should be sufficient for your records.

Dear Gurumurthy, I absconded 3 months ago. I don't know if they have recorded it as abscondence. If it has been noted as abscondence, will I still be able to obtain a relieving/experience letter?

Thanks,
