How Should I Handle Overlapping Notice and Joining Dates with My New Job Offer?

Hi,

I have landed in an awkward situation and really don't know what to do. I have resigned from my current company and am serving my one-month notice period. There is about a week to go for my notice to be over. Meanwhile, my future employer wants me to join them now so that they can file my B1. They don't want me to work for a week as I need to serve the notice period. This means my joining date in the new company would be earlier than the relieving date in the current company. It's a matter of seven days, but I don't want to take chances, so I need advice from you guys.

Kindly do not take risks.

Relieve yourself from the current employer.

Take the appointment letter and join the new company.

It may lead to problems in the future.

Yes, the same situation has been faced by my organization. We issued him a joining letter, but later the candidate found himself unable to submit his relieving letter before his present joining. We canceled and took back his joining letter and reissued it after he submitted his relieving letter.
