UAE Emp Visa Cancel

I left UAE without resigning to my job and sent a mail from India regarding resignation and the HR asked me to send the passport for visa cancellation. Is it safe to send the passport for cancellation, i worked for 5 years and 6 months in that company, can they put |GCC ban or uae ban on me? Is there any option to send the passport to uae from India, i mean courier or through embassy... please help me on this.

Passport is a property of Indian Government, it shall not leave any country's border without its rightful holder through legal channels.
You may seek advise from UAE consulate in India and cancel your residency VISA accordingly.
