Understanding PT Remittance: Monthly or Half-Yearly for Andhra, Karnataka, and Kerala?

saumyai
I need to know how the PT amount deducted from employees' salaries needs to be remitted specifically for Andhra, Karnataka, and Kerala. Is it every month for all states or half-yearly? Also, what is the last date for remittance? Is there a specific format or form for all these states, and in whose favor should the check be prepared? When should we file for returns of PT for the above states?

Thank you.

I am not sure about AP & Kerala. Regarding Karnataka, Form 5 has to be filled. Now PT in Karnataka: Filing of PT shall be done online. Manual forms are not accepted. PT has to be deducted every month, and the same should be submitted on or before the 20th of the respective month.

Rates for PT

- 0 - 9999: NIL
- 10000 - 14999: 150
- 15000 and above: 200

Depending on the sector, a cheque has to be issued as there are a total of 10 PTO offices in Bangalore itself. If you can provide the area, I can advise on the PTO details and the location of the office.
