How to Handle a Job Offer Requesting a Salary Slip Without Deductions?

Hi All, I am a commercial manager in a private company based in Chennai, receiving a salary of Rs. 35,000 per month without any deductions for PF, ESI, or even TDS. The company provides a printed salary slip. I have recently received an offer from a reputable company that is requesting my salary slip. What should I do? Please advise.

You can provide the payslip that you received from the company itself. However, as you are a commercial manager, I hope you have filed your IT returns or obtained your Form 16 from your company. You can submit the same along with the salary slip.

Alternatively, please provide your bank statement where the amount credited as your salary is displayed.

Thanks to Nisha and Shenbagaranjan K for responding. Currently, my company has a staff strength of 33. I have never filed an IT return or received Form 16. My salary is sometimes credited in parts due to a shortage of funds. The company is poorly managed and has not followed standard practices in any department from the beginning. For the past few months, the company has been unable to pay salaries in full, even though the salary slip states "Pay at full." The outstanding salary owed to me exceeds Rs. 1,00,000, and I have been constantly trying to make ends meet.

What Should I Do?

I am genuinely concerned. Please advise.

About the Deduction of PF and ESI

Since your salary is more than ₹15,000 per month, ESI will not apply. For PF, you have the option of opting out of PF deduction since your basic salary is more than ₹6,500 (as the basic salary is 40% of the total salary).

TDS deduction must have been done by the employer, which they missed out on, and this is a point of concern. Otherwise, it is okay with the salary slip.

Greetings! If your company is not too big, there should be no problem. Whatever proof you have, such as a printed payslip, you can submit. However, from the employer's perspective, they may question its authenticity. To address this concern, you can also submit your bank statement for added assurance. This way, they won't have any doubts about your salary.
